Favorite Books: Babies & Toddlers

As a mom of four, I’ve come to appreciate the value of a good book in those early years, and today, I’m excited to share our top picks for favorite books for babies and toddlers in this blog post. Reading to our kids every night before bedtime has been a cherished routine in our family, one we’ve treasured since their earliest days. It’s amazing how we’ve read countless stories together, from board books to bedtime tales. Even now, as they grow, we still share a laugh about the sing-songy rhythm of “pajammy to the left, pajammy to the right” in Sandra Boynton’s “Pajama Time.” Those moments are filled with nostalgia.

Books, like the Berenstain Bears series, have played a pivotal role in teaching our children important life lessons, from handling tricky situations to understanding the concept of stranger danger. It’s incredible how these stories can gently broach tough topics. And it’s not just about learning; it’s about winding down, too. There’s something soothing about a story before sleep that kids absolutely love.

When it comes to choosing books for this age, our favorite books for babies and toddlers are softcover and board books. Their durability and interactive features make them perfect for little hands and curious minds. It’s an age where exploration through touch and play is essential for development, and these books have always been our trusted companions. I’ve linked my favorite books for babies and toddlers below.
